The Ilford BID Security Radio Scheme forms the backbone of the Ilford Business Against Crime (IBAC) partnership and is a key part of our coordinated approach to reducing crime, anti-social behaviour, and repeat offending across Ilford town centre.
Ilford BID is the lead organisation for the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) in Ilford, working in close collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Service, London Borough of Redbridge, local businesses, and partner agencies to improve safety, confidence, and trading conditions.
What the Security Radio Scheme Provides
Membership of the Ilford BID Security Radio Scheme gives businesses direct access to a live, intelligence-led communication network, enabling rapid information sharing and coordinated responses.
Key Features
- Two dedicated BID security operatives deployed in Ilford town centre Monday to Sunday, 11:00am – 6:00pm
- Direct radio communication with: Ilford BID security officers, other businesses within the scheme, Metropolitan Police, BID Officers
- Access to the town centre CCTV suite, supporting incident monitoring and evidence gathering
- A trusted network for reporting and responding to shoplifting, anti-social behaviour, violent or threatening incidents, known offenders operating across multiple premises
DISC - GDPR COMPLIANT INTELLIGENCE SHARING PLATFORM
All scheme members receive access to DISC ( ACCESS ONLY AVAILABLE TO ILFORD BID DISC MEMBERS), a nationally recognised, GDPR compliant data portal used by Business Crime Reduction Partnerships across the UK.

- Share images and intelligence lawfully
- Track repeat offenders

- Demonstrate compliance with UK GDPR and data protection legislation
Regular Meetings & Information Sharing
(Privacy Policy)All radio scheme members are invited to bi-monthly (every 6 weeks) user meetings, providing:
- Crime trend updates
- Intelligence briefings
- Operational feedback
- Direct engagement with the Ilford BID Manager
- Attendance and updates from the Metropolitan Police Inspector
These sessions ensure businesses remain informed, supported, and actively involved in shaping the town centre safety response.
Cost & Membership
£400 per year (plus VAT). Flexible payment options available, including Direct Debit or agreed payment terms (subject to approval).
Membership includes radio access, security coverage support, DISC (ILFORD BUSINESS AGAINST CRIME - ACCESS ONLY AVAILABLE TO DISC MEMBERS) access, meetings, and BID coordination.
